Who Are We? Why This Website?

For over half a century little was being said about Jewish-Polish or Jewish-Christian relations. School textbooks were generally silent. First there was World War II and occupation; then there was communism and censorship.

It is therefore hardly surprising that the majority of the public has been affected by ignorance or false knowledge that perpetuates misleading stereotypes and propaganda. Outside Poland thorough knowledge is also lacking. Simplistic patterns of thought and unjustifiable assessments are widespread.

Now, the significance of the mutual relations is on the increase – greatly due to the work of late Pope John II, whose efforts towards boosting dialogue and cooperation between the two national and religious communities were tireless. Matters connected with Islam have become equally important. Dialogue and collaboration among the three great monotheistic traditions is absolutely necessary.

Our online magazine aims to contribute to developing the collaboration by providing regular information, reflection, presenting a variety of experiences and putting forward practical proposals.

The site contains the following sections: 

• News – information about recent events related to the subject of our interest, based on press agency data, local and international press and credible personal information sources; updated daily
• Press Review – weekly review of international press, including reprints and article / interview reports
• View Point – commentaries, columns and opinions by experts
• Reviews – short reviews of newly launched books / films of interest, and of classic publications such as Judaica bibliographies
• People – interviews, profiles etc.
• Studies and Documents – crucial documents and articles related to the Jewish-Christian-Muslim dialogue 
• Varia – miscellaneous texts (reports, essays, etc.)

The Forum is being published by the Znak Christian Culture Foundation in collaboration with the Polish Council of Christians and Jews and with EuroDialog, an Internet service devoted to European dialogue and cooperation (www.eurodialog.org.pl).

We are also willing to cooperate with similar communities in Poland and abroad. You are most welcome to join us!
